December 9, 1967 - JIM Morrison's very boring repeated arrest record continued today when he was arrested onstage in New Haven, Connecticut, and charged with breach of peace and resisting arrest. The Doors were appearing at the New Haven Arena, and prior to the show, a policeman found singer Jim Morrison making out with an 18 year-old girl in a backstage shower and after an argument the policeman sprayed mace in Morrison’s face. Once on stage Morrison began to tell the story of the backstage episode and began taunting the police in the process. it didn't take long for the police to react - they dragged him offstage and arrested him, as you can see by the following video clip. A riot from the crowd ensued, leaving the venue in disarray, many from the audience arrested. Later that night, more than 100 protestors gathered at the police station in demonstration and even more arrests were made. Here's the onstage arrest, followed by a video compilation of Morrison, to a song by DJ Coppola, and uploaded by youtuber DJ Coppola99finewine. This is a brilliant piece of music with equally spirited editing.
